Composite doors in Penzance
Composite front and back doors for Penzance, Newlyn, Mousehole and the rest of Penwith, measured, quoted and fitted by me. Proper doors for granite homes at the far end of Cornwall.
Doors for granite homes and Atlantic weather
Out west, the weather comes in from both coasts. Granite terraces in Penzance, fishermen’s cottages in Newlyn and Mousehole, and farmhouses up towards St Just all need a door that stays tight, warm and secure through a proper Penwith winter.
Older stone cottages often have doorways that are a little out of square. Every door I fit is made to measure, and I measure it myself, so it fits the opening you actually have.
Worth knowing before you choose
- Salt spray can tarnish cheaper handles fast. Stainless or PVD finishes are worth the small extra cost this close to the sea.
- Cottage-style doors with vertical boarding and a small glazed top suit traditional stone houses particularly well.
- A stable door is a lovely option for a cottage kitchen. Top half open for air, bottom half shut to keep the dog in.
The doors I fit
I fit four UK-made composite door brands, so you get real choice: Barbican for almost any colour you can name, Comp Door for exposed, weather-beaten spots, Door-Stop for top-rated locks and smart options, and Solidor for designer styles. Every one is Secured by Design as standard.

Around Penzance, I also cover
Newlyn, Mousehole, Heamoor, Gulval, Madron, Long Rock, Marazion, St Just, Pendeen, St Buryan, Sennen and right out to Land’s End.
If your postcode starts with TR, I’m your man. West Cornwall only, until the price of diesel drops.
